Eight exciting adventures of James... a fat black and white cat who lives in an Enchanted Garden and featuring Plain Bee, Sad Dragon, Green Elephant, Silk and Lawn, and the wicked Black Queen.

The Sad Dragon… Mango, the sad dragon has such a bad cold that his flames have gone out. James and Silk find Mango and take him back to the Garden, where work out a solution to the problem.

James the Gardener… seeing a poster for a show offering prizes for the best plants, James decides he must win. He keeps his gardening a secret from the others but when the big day comes he’s in for a surprise.

The Journey…James goes on a boating trip with the Gardener having promised not to try to catch any fish. But James being James he breaks his promise, so the King of the Fishes takes him on a fantastic journey to the bottom of the sea to teach him a lesson.

The Lonely Potted Bush… a sad and neglected bush, hoping to be noticed by the Gardener leaves The Enchanted Garden. He is rescued by the Elf King and Queen and returns to the Garden a hero as the only plant ever to have left.

The Black Queen Returns… James finds a small ugly bush that rapidly grows into an even uglier tree, Discovering the tree is really the Black Queen out for revenge, he calls Silk and Lawn to his aid to prevent that happening.

The Green Elephant… and the other animals made a kind Magician to keep him company begin to lose their magic spell when they go exploring and wander too far away. They take refuge in the Enchanted Garden where James thinks up a plan to them back to safety.

James and the Yellow Canary… when Cornelius the canary, who was too frightened to fly properly on James’s head whist practising he decides to stay. James has to find a solution as all the flowers are laughing at him-

The Vain Rose… a beautiful new rose believing herself to be better than all the other flowers wants to King and Queen of the Garden. She stays open day and night so that everyone can admire her.
