On the west coast of Wales, 630 acres bordering the south bank of the River Dyfi form the RSPB reserve of Ynys-hir. Windswept hilltops give way to bracken-lined slopes, coniferous and deciduous woodland and the salt marshes lining the muddy estuary. These varied habitats on the reserve are host to a remarkable spectrum and abundance of animals and plants.
