JACLYN SMITH stars as Jennifer Parker, the daughter of a judge who begins her law career as a trainee in the New York State District Attorney's Office. She is fired and nearly disbarred after unwittingly delivering an inflammatory missive to a key prosecution witness during a trial involving a Mafia chieftain. Although she officially wins her right to keep practising, her tainted reputation makes it impossible to find a job anywhere. Forced to establish her own practice, she struggles through a tough period. but eventually returns to court, arguing cases against the man who dismissed her.
