Synopsis

George and Mildred Roper, the landlord and landlady from "MAN ABOUT THE HOUSE", star in this videocassette taken from the highly successful Thames series. They've moved from their familiar environment in central London to the suburban executive belt - where primrose front doors and dustbin liners abound. They've swapped their rambling Edwardian home for a neat two-and-a-half-up two-and-a-half-down town house, with bijou, gardenette and communal TV aeriel [sic]. Now Mildred is keen to savour the company of thrusting young up-and-coming executive couples like the Fourmiles next door - but George has his doubts. Is there a decent chip shop on the estate? How much coal will a bidet hold? The clash of life-styles and aspirations means some nasty shocks for the neighbours and lots of fun all round, as George and Mildred settle into their new surroundings.
