Synopsis
Tommy Horton has stayed at the top in tournament golf longer than practically any other British player. His list of major wins is a very long one indeed, including the Dunlop Masters and many international Open events. He has represented his country on frequent occasions and has an outstanding reputation as a teacher. Michael Barratt, formerly television's "Mr. Nationwide", is often seen on the Pro-Am golf circuit - helping to raise money for charity but never succeeding in "raising" his own game! He's an 18-handicapper, eager to play better so that he can enjoy his week-end golf more. And it's for club golfers like him that this unique series has been produced. In this first programme, Tommy takes Michael through the basic principles - grip, stance, swing, tee and fairway shots, pitching, putting and "splashing" out of bunkers.
