This recording of the well-known Covent Garden production by John Copley, in Julia Trevelyan Oman's authentic setting stars Ileana Cotrubas and Neil Shicoff as Mimi and Rodolfo, whose tender love affair is doomed from the start. Marilyn Zschau and Thomas Allen sing the roles of Musetta and Marcello. The opera is conducted by Lamberto Gardelli.
