Synopsis

The deadliest, most sinister snake in the world - a black-mamba - goes on the rampage in Venom, a star studded suspense thriller that pits the devious minds of criminals against the reptilian cunning of a lethally poisonous serpent. Trouble starts when the young grandson of a big game hunter receives a mamba in place of the harmless African house snake he has been expecting. A plot to kidnap the young boy from his home goes badly wrong as the mamba escapes and shelters in the house's air-conditioning system. Tension mounts as police surround the kidnappers and lay siege to the house, as the mamba begins to claim victims in savage, unprovoked attacks. Its invisible, silent and evil promise of agonising death creates an atmosphere of pure terror. Waging battle against the serpent are the mastermind criminal, Klaus Kinski, assistant Oliver Reed and his lover Susan George, while Nicol Williamson is the police chief who marshals his forces to await the moment to strike. Claustrophobic and spine-chilling, Venom was directed by Piers (Pennies From Heaven) Haggard.
