For the very first time the glamour and the excitement of the custom scene has been captured on film. Following the enthusiasm from conception and construction of their gleaming machinery out onto the street, into the fast-moving hustle of the custom car shows and eventually under the glare of the photographer's lights and across the pages of their favourite magazines.

The roots of the customer scene are buried under the tarmac of the American dragstrips but all the ground-pounding British race action is blazed across every frame. Some of the fastest action on film will make you glad you've got freeze-frame and slow motion. Even then you may still miss the 300 mph rocket car or the 200mph dragsters. But you'll hear them — in fact this is the loudest noise you will hear in your life.
