Synopsis

They steal a train - they'll steal your heart
"...A hilariously funny comedy..." When circumstances force a not-so-retiring widower, Harold Gould (Harry Landers), into a strictly-run retirement home, "Last Horizon," it's not long before he clashes with the home's authoritarian supervisor, Tyne Daly (Ms. Davis). Unable to cope with her many rules, Harry coerces a group of residents to join him in protesting against the lack of freedoms. Though Harry manages some marginal reforms at the home, more and more his antics grate on Ms. Davis' nerves. Finally, after Harry has a one-night drunken spree with his best friend, a retired railroad conductor, Strother Martin (J.D. Ashcroft), Ms. Davis threatens Harry with a transfer to the dreaded state home for the aged, "the last stop." This threat, however, causes Harry to concoct a daring escape plan. One night, with the aid of J.D. and several enlisted friends, Harry steals an abandoned train and he and the aged runaways take off for the Old West town of "Rainbow" to begin a new life. Though a frenzied Ms. Davis finally catches up with them and has them returned to the home, Harry has instilled the oldsters with such a new sense of power that we know things will never be quite the same at Last Horizon again.
