Ross carpenter (ELVIS PRESLEY) is a young man who knows a lot of girls. One of them, beautiful songstress Robin Gantner, carries a torch for that's breaking her heart. But Ross has only one love: the West Wind, a fishing boat that he captain's and dreams of one day owning. When the boat is sold to his unscrupulous rival, Wesley Johnson, Ross must swallow both his disappointment and his pride. He goes to work for Johnson, whilst taking on the second job of a singer in a local nightclub. Performing brings Ross two bonuses: extra money to put forward the purchase of the West Wind from Johnson, and a very special relationship with a young lady who really cares for him. But while Ross is planning to make two permanent additions to his life, Johnson has a devious plan of his own to undermine him in business and in love.
