Christmas is coming, but for the children of the village it may be a Christmas without Santa. The local paper has published a letter by someone in the village, no-one knows who, saying that Santa has done terrible things. He is so angry that he says he wont come to visit them this Christmas. Joshua Trundle and little Father Mouse work frantically to discover who wrote the letter and expose him to Santa so that their children won't be disappointed, As Christmas Eve fast approaches, will the beautiful bells of the clock-tower enchant Santa Claus so that he forgives the village its offence and arrives on time after all? The story is adapted from a famous poem by Clement Moore.
