A primitive Greek island, rife with bizarre mythological superstition draws Neil Friers and his wife Sherry in search of Madeline, Neil's missing sister. The reception from the islanders is cool and unhelpful, determined they set out in search of Madeline, exploring the ancient maze of the town's streets. Eventually, Neil discovers and faces Madeline. He is instantly seized and held brutally at knife point, until his identity is verified by his sister. It emerges that Madeline is involved with Frye, the knifeman, in doubtful 'archaeological activities'. It is Frye's misguided delving that uncovers the dreadful reason for the strange behaviour of the islanders. A terrifying string of inexplicable and bloody deaths make the unwanted intruders aware that the island's myth is in reality a monster with an insatiable appetite for people.
