Synopsis

Butch and Sundance were NEVER like this!! Paul Newman is Jim Kane - a good natured, none too smart Texas cowboy who owns a truck, owes money to the bank and his ex-wife, and has a perfect knack for making bad bargains. Lee Marvin is Leonard, his old Mexico hand buddy, who drinks himself into oblivion while planning outrageous schemes to get rich quick. Together this odd couple are suckers for every swindler with a bum steer. And for a crooked rodeo supplier like Strother Martin, these two appealingly incompetent losers are an easy target... But even he hasn't counted on the invulnerability to permanent-defeat that marks these two lovable naive hustlers. Pocket Money repeats the acclaimed teaming of director Stuart Rosenberg and Hollywood superstar Paul Newman for Cool Hand Luke and was written by Terence Malick who later directed the cult classic Badlands. "A very appealing movie... Newman's performance seems to be quietly satirising every hero he's ever played." Vincent Canby - New York Times "Charming... chock full of character." Movies on T.V. "A superb team - a true original." J.C. Landry, author of 'Paul Newman - An Illustrated Biography'
