A heart-wrenching story of misunderstood love. Misunderstood is a small boy's dream of happiness that turns to disaster. Haunted by the tragic death of his wife, John Duncombe, (Anthony Quayle) buries himself in his grief, abandoning his two motherless sons to fend for themselves. Desperate for love, and without the care and devotion of their father, the children run wild and into an even greater tragedy.
