Synopsis

THERE WAS ONLY ONE THING MORE TERRIFYING THAN LEAVING THE HOUSE ...STAYING IN IT. Lauren Cochran, an attractive, thirty-year old writer of Gothic Mystery novels, suffers from severe psychological ailments. Among them, agrophobia (fear of leaving the house), a repressed, inhibited sex life and a recent writer's block. In an effort to overcome her problems, Lauren decides to rent a house in the quite countryside. Lauren moves into the house, and before long, strange things begin to happen. For the first time in years, she is able to remember her dreams, erotic in nature. The house seems to have the effect of stimulating and releasing sexual urges, feeling that Lauren has long supressed. Several frightening and violent deaths occur. A local handyman is mysteriously drowned. Another is killed when Lauren is forced to defend herself from a savage attack. Lauren is unsure if what she has experienced is real, hallucinatory or if indeed, there are ghosts inhabting the house.
