Synopsis

Every summer Chevy Chase takes his family on a little trip. This year he went too far.
Fasten your seat belts and settle back for a zany and uproarious comic treat as Chevy Chase decides to drive his wife Beverly D'Angelo and their two children across America from Chicago to California for a visit to the fabulous Walley World amusement park. But, on the way the luckless travellers encounter a series of hilarious misadventures that would reduce lesser mortals to quivering heaps of jelly. And, when they finally reach Walley World, they discover that their troubles are only just beginning...There are, said the Glasgow Herald, lots of laughs in it and the Mail on Sunday agreed, noting that 'en route, it detonates some shrewd laughs'. Chevy Chase, one of the best comedians working in pictures today and the star of such films as Foul Play and Caddyshack is splendid as the much put- upon father, well supported by Beverly D'Angelo as his long-suffering wife, Imogene Coca gives a marvellously eccentric performance as the dotty aunt the family are saddled with to take along to Arizona and the film, with its non-stop gags and brisk direction by Harold Ramis emerges as great comedy entertainment and, said the Sunday Express, generates some welcome laughter'. Also watch out for a stunning motion picture debut from the world's top model Christie Brinkley.
