Synopsis
The only way of learning to catch fish is by watching successful anglers at work, and that's just what Fly Fishing does. Guided by celebrated angler Arthur Oglesby, the programme explores the techniques and tactics of this thrilling sport, as well as accompanying distinguished anglers on the Test, the Spey, Rutland Water, the Tweed, and many more of the finest fishing waters in Britain. ARTHUR OGLESBY has been described as one of the finest fly fishermen in Europe. He is also a distinguished film maker on angling, and a regular contributor to the angling press. Currently European Editor of Field and Stream and Chairman of the Association of Professional Game Angling Instructors, Arthur is the author of the comprehensive Salmon, and an instructor on the well-established angling course at Grantown-on-Spey. BOB CHURCH is a leading stillwater specialist who runs his own angling accessories business in Northampton. He is well-known for the lures he has designed, including the Black Chenille, and he has won several major fishing competitions. HUGH FALKUS is a famous sportsman and broadcaster, whose films have received international acclaim. He is the author of Sea Trout, and in 1982 was awarded the Royal Geographical Society's Cherry Kearton Award for his writing and wildlife filming. R.V.RIGHYNI is an angler and writer who has been fishing for over sixty years. He is recognised as an authority both on salmon and grayling, and is reputed to have caught grayling in 107 British rivers. BARRIE WELHAM established his reputation as a talented angler in the 1940's, and has fished widely both in Europe and America. He is perhaps best know as a dry fly fisherman, and as director of Leeds Tackle Ltd.
